Whistler Blackcomb Starts Season with Powder!

Whistler Blackcomb opened for the 2021/22 season on Thursday, November 25th offering fresh powder to those lucky enough to be there! Mother nature dropped 30cm of fresh snow overnight and 66cm this week to make a 125cm base for an amazing opening day.

A small crowd of 900 skiers and boarders were in line for the 8:15am opening despite the severe weather that has crippled transportation links through the Fraser Valley and Interior. The flood restrictions and highway closures prevented many from traveling to Whistler.

Looking ahead the weather looks favourable for Whistler and BC with an active and southwesterly flow setting up to deliver heavy snow to the region throughout the weekend and into next week.

Revelstoke opened on Saturday, November 27th with a 140cm base. See all the mountain resorts opening dates here.
