Mountain Resorts 2021 Opening Days

Lake Louise Opening Day

Opening day at the local hill is a very special experience. Here are the scheduled opening days for Powder Canada’s list of Mountain Resorts that should be on every powder junkies list. Banff leads the mountain resort openings this season with Mt. Norquay opening on Friday, November 4th and Lake Louise opening the following Saturday.

Banff’s early openings offer artificial snow on limited terrain, usually the lower mountain. These resorts make snow and open early largely to accommodate race training, programs and events, however also enjoy the marketing kudos of being open.

Not all mountain resort openings offer steeps and untracked powder however a majority of opening days are a powder junkies best powder day in months!

Whitewater Opening Day

The 2021 opening schedule should produce many days and many bowls of untracked powder for you to explore. A true junkie will formulate a plan to hit as many openings as possible and the resorts schedules nicely work to accommodate a great road trip!

Here in Eastern BC for example; catching Revy, Castle, Fernie, Whitewater and Red would be a highly recommended powder tour. Get on it and plan your road trip!
