Eric Hjorleifson in RUIN and ROSE
Matchstick Productions is very excited to share this action packed athlete edit featuring Eric Hjorleifson in RUIN and ROSE. It had been a few years since they have been able to work with Hoji, but this season was one of the best.
Here are some words from Hoji recapping the season.
“After a two year sabatical off of filming with the MSP crew, last season we reunited for what would turn out to be one of my most enjoyable and successful film seasons in the past several years. We were super fortunate to start the season off with fantastic conditions at Golden Alpine Holidays (GAH) Sentry lodge. Sentry has become my second home over the last 10 years but last season we got creative and really looked at the terrain in a different way and skied a lot of features that I have walked by numerous times without considering them to be film worthy.
My second film trip of the year we also scored perfect conditions flying with Selkirk Tangiers Heliskiing. I have flown & filmed at Selkirk Tangiers briefly in the past but this season we really had ideal conditions with good stability and a weather window that allowed us to explore the far reaches of their massive tenure. The Selkirk mountains truly hold some of Canada’s greatest skiing.
I rounded out my film season by attending the Whistler park jump shoot on Blackcomb mountain. This was the first time I participated in a park shoot in probably 8 or so years, haha! I was extremely impressed by the crews professionalism and high percentage success stomping a huge arsenal of tricks in a rapid fire session on the multi-hit butter box feature.
It was a real pleasure to work with the MSP crew again, I had a ton of fun filming this segment and felt like I found my drive to push my skiing to the best of my abilities, I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed skiing for it.”
Cheers,
Hoji
