September Powder in the West

The fires and hot weather has been replaced by September powder in the West! After a long summer, it’s time to celebrate the snowfall and float a few powder turns, high on a glacier, somewhere in our mountain playground.

As the nights draw in and temperatures drop, we skiers and snowboarders are getting increasingly itchy to hit the slopes. So why wait, the powder has arrived!

Most skiers and snowboarders consider the season to start on opening day and then go into overdrive shortly after for Christmas. In terms of sheer numbers of powder enthusiasts descending upon the mountains, this is true. However those powder junkies who are super keen–they are skiing now.

So if you really can’t wait to get your powder fix, you don’t need to – get out to a local glacier and walk for your turns!
