Canadian Marcus Goguen Claims Victory at Kicking Horse FWT
The energy was high Kicking Horse Resort as the Freeride World Tour returned to Golden BC for the third stop of the 2025 season. Despite frigid temperatures hovering around -18°C, the competition heated up on the Ozone face, where stable snowpack and soft landings gave riders the confidence to push their limits.
Goguen Takes the Win on Home Soil
Whistler skier Marcus Goguen delivered an outstanding performance, securing first place in the Ski Men’s field. Riding with aggression and style, Goguen impressed both the judges and the crowd with a backflip into a cork 7 on back-to-back features, navigating the technical terrain with precision.

Spain’s Abel Moga put in a strong run to finish second, showcasing a front flip, backflip, and a massive cliff drop at high speed. Ben Richards of New Zealand rounded out the podium with a huge front flip and a flawless 360, cementing his reputation as a creative and technical rider.
Victor de Le Rue and Michaela Davis-Meehan Take Snowboard Titles
In the Snowboard Men’s category, Victor de Le Rue took home the top spot, showing off his technical mastery and fearless approach to the course. His run was a mix of high-speed lines and smooth landings, proving why he remains one of the best in the game.
On the Snowboard Women’s side, Michaela Davis-Meehan secured first place with a strong and confident line, expertly navigating the features and setting herself apart from the competition.
Shakeup in the Ski Women’s Field
The competition saw a major shift in the Ski Women’s rankings, with neither Justine Dufour-Lapointe nor Astrid Cheylus making the podium. Instead, it was Germany’s Lena Kohler who claimed third place with a clean line and confident drops.
Swiss rider Jenna Keller finished second, using her strong technical skills to navigate an untouched double drop and maintain high speed throughout her run.
In first place, Molly Armanino of the U.S. put down an explosive performance to reclaim the top spot, proving her versatility and determination.

Looking Ahead
With the Golden, BC stop now in the books, the Freeride World Tour heads into the second half of the season. The next stop is set in Georgia, with a weather window running from February 23 – March 1.
