Lusti Slays Sir Sandford
Christina “Lusti” Lustenberger once again so eloquently marks her position as North Americas top ski mountaineer with a first descent of the South Couloir of Sir Sandford.
Lusti evolved from World Cup alpine skier to certified ACMG ski guide to big mountain film star and expedition skier almost as quickly as the pace she sets up and down mountains. At 35, the former Olympic ski racer now notches first descents in ranges close to home in British Columbia and as far away as the Himalayas and the Baffin Island. Lusti spent most of her childhood at Panorama Mountain Resort, where her parents ran “Lusti’s”, a ski shop at the base of the ski area.
Mount Sir Sandford is the highest mountain of the Sir Sandford Range and the highest mountain in the Selkirk Mountains of southeastern British Columbia. It is the 12th highest peak in the province.
Go Lusti go!
