Lurking Avalanche Dangers

There is powder up there. Way up there. But this is a stressed snowpack. Ryan Harvey warns us of the lurking dangers. Choose your terrain wisely. You can still trigger large avalanches on deep weak layers in areas that haven’t previously avalanched or on steep terrain. There’s also significant surface hoar growth recently, which could turn into another layer to watch out for.
