Lake Louise Releases Update on Richardson’s Ridge Expansion
Lake Louise Ski Resort has released its first construction update on the highly anticipated Richardson’s Ridge expansion, scheduled to open for the 2025–26 winter season. The new 200-acre addition will sit adjacent to the resort’s legendary Back Bowls and directly across from the Paradise Chair, delivering a fresh mix of easy, intermediate, and advanced terrain for skiers and riders.
The project follows the recent installation of a bubble chairlift during the 2024–25 season, further boosting Lake Louise’s lift infrastructure and guest experience. Richardson’s Ridge is a central component of the resort’s Long-Range Plan, which describes the new terrain pod as “rare” in its ability to offer a well-balanced variety of runs in a single area. Skiers can expect groomed pistes, gladed tree skiing, and more technical chutes.
This week, Lake Louise Ski Resort shared that trail and lift line clearing is underway, with Valhalla Helicopters assisting in the initial phases of construction. The new lift will be accessible via the existing Pika run and is designed to serve a wide range of ability levels.
“This expansion is a major step in our commitment to enhancing the Lake Louise experience,” said a resort spokesperson. “We’re excited to offer something for everyone, from mellow glades to steeper lines.”
