Northern Escape Heli Best in the World

Northern Escape Heli Skiing based in Terrace has been acknowledged as being the “World’s Best Heli-Ski Operator” at the 2022 World Ski Awards.

“This is the first time we have won the award and it was certainly a battle to unseat the past winner, but in the end the voters chose us,” said General Manager John Forrest.

Bella Coola Heli Skiing has previously won the World’s Best Heli-Ski Operator in 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, and 2017.

Launched in 2013, the World Ski Awards aim to drive up standards within the snow sports industry by rewarding the organizations that are leaders in their field. The other category winners are mostly European, heli-skiing is a category that Canada dominates.

“Being recognized as the World’s Best Heli Ski Operator is very rewarding. We’ve been in operations now for 20 years and have refined our product line to be fitting of the award,” said John. The operator offers three different heli-skiing packages with accommodations in its two lodges plus a luxurious ranch where travellers can rest up before a day of skiing. And, it’s one of the world’s few carbon-neutral heli-skiing companies, an esteemed status shared with Bella Coola.
