Natural Selection Tour

The 2025 Natural Selection Tour (NST) is kicking off its inaugural round with an electrifying Duel matchup in the pristine backcountry of the Callaghan Valley, just outside Whistler. The event is part of a groundbreaking series created by freeride snowboarding legend Travis Rice, uniting the world’s top riders—including Olympians, freeride champions, and big mountain film icons—to tackle some of the most challenging and breathtaking terrain on the planet.

At the Callaghan, Whistler snowboarder Brin Alexander will face off against fellow pro rider Bjorn Leines, a former X Games medalist from Cottonwood Heights, Utah.

The Natural Selection Duels span six iconic mountain venues across the globe, combining head-to-head matchups that push creativity and progression. Riders must showcase their skills on untouched powder and technical terrain to advance to the next round, with the final showdown set for Revelstoke.

“Natural Selection Duels at the Callaghan represent the pinnacle of snowboarding—creativity, progression, and a profound connection to the natural world,” said Rebecca Heard, CMO at evo, Callaghan Valley. “With its breathtaking terrain, untouched powder, and rich backcountry history, the Callaghan is the ideal venue for this event. evo is proud to support initiatives that celebrate the intersection of sport, the outdoors, and community.”

The Callaghan’s deep snowpack and expansive backcountry, steeped in snowboarding culture, promise a stunning stage for riders to push the boundaries of the sport. As NST continues to evolve, its focus on celebrating snowboarding’s roots while showcasing the cutting edge of progression has made it a hallmark of the winter sports calendar.
