BC is Going Off!

Several BC resorts received over 150cms of light dry powder this past week, BC is going off—what a start to the new year! Those skiers and boarders that were lucky enough to be at a BC resort enjoyed epic snow conditions.

This amazing January powder cycle had five resort that really got dumped on, the above photos confirm the stoke, and they are:

Total Snowfall and Snowpack

1 Revelstoke – 690cms – 238cms
2 Whitewater – 659cms – 273cms
3 Fernie – 605cms – 284cms
4 Kicking Horse – 492cms – 172cms
5 Whistler – 466cms – 215cms

Lots of other BC resorts also experienced big snow and amazing conditions, it was the cycle BC needed after a slow start to the powder season.

In Fernie, the snow conditions reminded me why I moved there in the 90’s. With fresh powder day after day, my wife and I decided to stop the powder commute and move there full time. We did, that was over 20 years ago and there has been no looking back. This week I skied fresh on my favourite powder lines, it doesn’t get any better and it’s still snowing!
