12 US Resorts Form ‘Powder Alliance’

In response to the development of other multi-area pass deals, a dozen Western resorts have created the Powder Alliance and are offering free lift access to “anytime” passholders from member resorts. The areas are Crested Butte, Colo.; Snowbasin Resort, Utah; Sierra-at-Tahoe, China Peak, and Mountain High, Calif.; Stevens Pass and Schweitzer, Wash.; Timberline and Mt. Hood Skibowl, Ore.; Arizona Snowbowl; Angel Fire Resort, N.M.; and Bridger Bowl, Mont.

For the price of an anytime local season pass, Powder Alliance resort members receive three free days at all other participating areas, plus special offers on lodging, rentals, and buddy tickets. This offer applies to top-tier, anytime passes only—midweek, spring, and other restricted passes don’t qualify. The three free tickets are valid Sunday–Friday, non-holidays, and must be used during the 2013-14 season.

Scott Clarkson, VP of sales and marketing for Crested Butte, said, “The Powder Alliance magnifies the value of participating areas and gives winter enthusiasts the variety, flexibility, and affordability to chase magnificent powder at some of the most well-known mountains in the country.”

To take advantage of the Alliance benefits, guests simply show their anytime 2013-14 season pass from any Powder Alliance area. Complete details will be available at www.powderalliance.com as well as on each resort’s website.
