BC Powder!

BC Delivers Powder holds true from the Kootenays to the Coast! Fernie, Revelstoke, Nelson, Whistler…and the list goes on. BC has experienced one of the best powder Decembers in years.

John Eaves, the ultimate freerider, celebrates a great day of powder skiing at CMH Valemount, in the Cariboo Mountains. John commented, “I am here filming a group of skiers, very stoked to get the goods today!
It’s hard to describe how good it feels ripping lines through low density powder. Come and see for yourself!”

The quality of the powder falling has been nothing but blower champagne. Descriptors being used are knee-deep, face-shots, chest-deep, snorkle skiing, couldn’t breath or see…it’s definitely deep and this epic powder continues to fall.

The avalanche hazard is showing promise for the remainder of the season. There are issues with wild slabs and some buried layers however overall we could be in for a very predictable and relatively safe year. Here in the East Kootenays the snowpack is looking great, all regions can vary at any time, definitely read what the experts have to say at avalanche.ca

Enjoy the powder, be safe and have a great new year!
