I read Amber Clontz' story from Powder Magazine on your site regarding the antics of Paul De Felice and friends. She makes it sound like all of Nelson is in support of these guys and their laissez-faire attitude towards drugs. As a lifelong Nelsonite, born and raised, I want you to know that most of this town actually does not think Mr. De Felice should just be let alone by police to run his illegal, tax-evading business however he wants. In fact, in my experience it has been mostly newcomers to Nelson, seeking a powder party lifestyle, who tout this view. I encourage those people to put down roots in this town, work, pay taxes, raise their children, and start giving back to this community rather than taking as much as they can in a season. Start committing to this town and start caring about its future. Most of us here really don't want it to be easier for teenagers to buy pot than beer.
We are so much more than just a party ski town. Go to Whistler if you want that.
